Friday July 19th

Today MaryAnn and Damian got married! Oh man! Weddings in Spain are tons of fun! It was at the church house we all go to. The ceremony was relatively short and was absolutely beautiful! Then there were tacos, chips, salsa, guacamole, sandwiches, toast with peppers and some sort of cheese, and Fanta! Oh, and lets not forget the most important part.... RED VELVET CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING!

The wedding was beautiful. I never understood before why married couples get all gushy at weddings and receptions. However, now being married, it was a good chance to reflect back on the reasons you got married, the journey to getting married, and the really great moments that come after marriage. I'm not saying marriage isn't work, (because it totally is and anyone who is married will tell/warn you of that) but it is work that is definitely worth it. The couple looked so content and in love. They've known each other for a long time. Both mentioned that they are best friends and couldn't live without each other. It was so fun to celebrate their union with my best friend!

After the ceremony was the reception and boy was it a party! They had a everyone move their chairs to the side of the room and created a dance floor. There were a couple slow dances and then the tunes got a rockin. There were people of all ages, shapes, and sizes dancing to Argentinian music and then to some American pop songs. Our favorite was watching the "Gangnam Style" which was performed by young and especially old! Grandma had some great moves on her! (We don't know whose grandma she was... but she could DANCE and was probably the best performer of this particular song.) We also enjoyed a few line dances including "Achy, Breaky, Heart" it was translated into Spanish, but the line dance was still the same. We busted out a couple of our own moves. We used our swing dancing skills and just had some plain old fun!

It was a great night! Congratulations to the happy couple!
